About this Company
In fueling Jamaica’s thrust to attract increased transshipment cargo to the Port of Kingston, the Kingston Container Terminal Services Limited (KCT) was established in 1975 as a transshipment hub for the growing use of containerized cargo and the demand for a container hub. The KCT has since grown to become one of the leading container terminals in the region, boasting consistently high-performances in yard and berth productivity.
The company offers modern warehousing and logistics facilities at locations immediately adjacent to the main transshipment terminals for a planned throughput capacity of 3.2 million TEU’s in the next five years. On 7 April 2015, the PAJ signed a 30 years Concession Agreement with shipping giants CMA CGM to finance, expand, operate and maintain the Kingston Container Terminal. This concession supports Jamaica’s efforts to become a global leader in transshipment and global logistics hubs. The project envisages integrating these facilities to form a port centric logistics cluster, that will be a Special Economic Zone to allow cargo to move efficiently in a secure, controlled, sterile environment.
